Internet and virtual community

I apologyze for those who rather to read this in spanish, but some of my friends have being complaining because they don't speak spanish!!!

The Internet itself has become not only a technology but a medium. It helps any social being who access it to become a part of the virtual community that exists on the net. As long as we are aware about the real magnitude that the Internet has as a mass medium, a technology and a message itself we better be conscious about the way we might use them. Virtuality might be hard to distinguish at some point with reality but not because of human beings are losing capacities, but because the Internet is growing and spreading even to our real life. Isn’t it true that whenever we purchase something through internet we might provide real data about our credit cards? This is when we might realize that the frontiers between Virtuality and Reality are blurry but it doesn't mean that we will substitute one for another. Instead, we will be aware about the right way to converge both things without giving up to any of them. Rheingold stated the virtual communities to be an ‘ecosystem of subcultures’, then I would say that solidarity and sense of belonging are just part of an ecosystem where Virtuality and Reality joints: Communities either they are virtual or real.
